Milton Wong graduated from the Hong Kong Polytechnic
University. He loves drawing graphics and trickart. Last year, he was invited by Disney to make a 5.5 feet Wire Mickey Mouse, which was displayed in TImes Square, Hong Kong.
Theme: Disney Mickey Mouse
Form: Installation Art
Medium: Wires
Cultural Background: 60 years anniversary of Mickey Mouse
Social Background: Mickey Mouse is a character that is so famous and deep rooted in many people's mind. No one expected to see a wire Mickey but he did this time. It breaks the rules of a cute and soft Mickey Mouse.
My interpretation: I went there to visit his work at that time. It is amazing since I never saw Mickey Mouse in wires and it is really big. I think he gave Mickey Mouse a new feeling and meaning. Mickey is not must to be cute, but also can be cool. The lines of wires are so complicated that you can feel how many planning and design are inside.
